ALFIE’S LEGACY FUND
Alfie's Legacy Fund provides Orphopaedic Memory Foam Dog beds, to the Dogs Trust Centres all over the Country, for dogs who have painful joints.
How it began…
Alfie's Legacy Fund was literally started sat on the edge of my bed, with tears rolling down my face, nursing a broken heart and holding a tub with money in (a few years ago, I decided to put money away so that if Alfie ever needed anything to help him, I had money to access straight away. I wrote ‘Alfie’s pocket money’ on the side because I knew that way I would never touch it, no matter what other unexpected bill came in.). I’d been saving for Alfie and was now wondering what was I going to do with it, that was the moment Alfie’s Legacy Fund was born and was officially launched on the the first anniversary of Alfies passing, 01.12.2017
All money raised goes to buying these amazing beds, to not only have in The Dogs Trust Centres but for the dogs to take with them on their journey of a new life. I personally cover not only the costs of delivery but also each month put money into the fund. Sadly I am unable to self fund completely of Alfie’s Legacy Fund, but with the combined help from you and myself, we will be helping so many dogs at The Dogs Trust Centres with coping with their pain.
If you would like to be apart of this, please click on the ‘Donate’ at the top of the page and thank you from Alfie’s Legacy Fund.
A bit about me
I have arthritis, my spine is pinned at the bottom, my left knee has been replaced, my right foot doesn’t work (known as drop foot), my right knee being replaced on 24.05.2018 and my right hand has limited function but I never let it stop me and I successfully completed the very first Alfie’s Legacy Fund Charity Trike/Bike Ride of 48miles, on the 17th April 2018, raising £1306.06 for Alfie’s Legacy Fund (I use a Trike because I can no longer ride a bike, with my limitations).
I will be uploading videos of my recovery of knee replacement surgery, in preparing for the 2nd Alfie’s Legacy Fund Charity Trike/Bike Ride on the 17th April 2019 on Alfie’s Legacy Fund Facebook page. Click on the events tab for more details of this ride, if you would like to take part. The route is from Mileham, Norfolk to here in Coates, Cambridgeshire (the route is bringing Alfie from where he was born to his new home). The date, is the date I became Alfie’s ‘human’ mummy and the start of a wonderful journey with him.
