So why The Dogs Trust?
For years, I have always given a monthly donation to The Dogs Trust (there reputation exceeds itself) , so i thought it would be fitting, to ask The Dogs Trust if Alfie's Legacy Fund could be apart of helping their dogs, by providing Orphopaedic Memory Foam Dog Beds. They not only kindly said ‘yes’ (understandably, after relevant checks) but have been so supportive on my journey with Alfie's Legacy Fund, to help dogs, with an aid to there pain management, in there care.
It wasn’t until I was shown behind the scenes, that I understood the magnitude of just how much work is put in by The Dogs Trust, to give every possible chance to all dogs, in re-homing and helping them. I have to point out, this first fact completely shocked me, 'any dog that has an ailment/condition on time of re-homing', The Dogs Trust will pay, for all of the treatment and medication for that ailment/condition, for the rest of the dogs life! and It isn’t just about re-homing, they go 'above and beyond' in preparing a dog to the world. The Dogs Trust have in their Centres (just some of what The Dogs Trust do) ‘sensory’ area's, training areas even a room that has been designed as a sitting room (tv and book shelf even include!), that helps a dog who hasn't been shown much of the world (in there previous homes) cope with there new life, in what will be a new world, to them.
I had the pleasure in meeting the dogs, that can not be homed (for different reasons) in there permanent habitat within The Dogs Trust, all I can say 'amazing'!
So if your ever thinking of re-homing a dog, please take a look at The Dogs Trust Re-homing page , it could be the start of a wonderful journey, of a life, with a new best friend!
